Dhaka: Police from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 52 crime suspects during special drives carried out in Hazaribagh and Shahjahanpur thana areas to curb crime and maintain law and order.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a day-long special drive conducted on Monday led to the arrest of 30 individuals from different areas under the jurisdiction of Hazaribagh Police Station.
During the operation in Hazaribagh, police recovered 8 pieces of yaba tablets and cannabis from the detained individuals. Two juveniles involved in offences were also detained, highlighting the range of offences targeted during the drive.
In a separate operation, Shahjahanpur Police Station conducted regular drives on Sunday, arresting 22 people. Among them, one individual was apprehended in a regular case, one in connection with an old murder case, and another based on an arrest warrant. Additionally, 19 individuals were detained through mobile court proceedings. Law enforcement officials also recovered approximately 2 grams of heroin and cannabis from those arrested in the Shahjahanpur area.
All the accused have been sent to court for further legal proceedings. Police officials stated that such drives will continue to ensure stability and maintain law and order in the areas.
