Two Children Die with Measles Symptoms at RMCH

Rajshahi: Two children, undergoing treatment with measles symptoms, have died at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) during the last 24 hours. The tragic deaths occurred within a 24-hour period from Sunday noon to Monday noon, though the identities of the deceased children have not been disclosed by the hospital authorities.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the hospital spokesperson, Dr. Shankar Kumar Biswas, reported that 20 new patients with measles symptoms were admitted to the hospital during the past 24 hours. In the same timeframe, five patients were discharged from the measles isolation ward, leaving a total of 138 patients currently undergoing treatment at the facility.



Since the outbreak began, RMCH has admitted a total of 411 patients with measles symptoms. Among them, 42 have died, with most of the deceased children hailing from various areas of the Chapainawabganj district.
