Mymensingh: Four people lost their lives and two were injured when a sand-laden truck collided with a CNG-run autorickshaw at Montalat Samitighar in the Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the identities of the deceased and injured have yet to be confirmed. All victims were passengers of the autorickshaw, as stated by Muktagachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Kamrul Hasan. The accident occurred around 12 pm when the speeding truck, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into the autorickshaw, killing three female passengers instantly and injuring three others.
The autorickshaw was severely damaged, and the truck overturned on the road. The injured individuals were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where another victim succumbed to injuries. Police arrived at the scene to recover the bodies.
The officer-in-charge mentioned that such accidents frequently result from overspeeding and reckless overtaking.
