Dhaka: The 36th meeting of the Interim Parliament Secretariat Commission took place at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with National Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul presiding over the proceedings.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by key officials including Principal Secretary of the Chief Adviser Office M Siraj Uddin Mia, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr. Md Mokhles Ur Rahman, Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Dr. Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, and Secretary of the Finance Division Dr. Md Khairuzzaman Majumder. A press release stated that the commission approved a revised budget proposal amounting to Taka 154 crore 4 lakh 5 thousand for operational expenditure and development for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Additionally, budgets of Taka 232 crore, Taka 243 crore 60 lakh, and Taka 255 crore 78 lakh were approved for the fiscal years 2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028, respectively.
The meeting commenced with a review of the minutes from the previous 35th Parliament Secretariat Commission meeting, followed by discussions on the implementation of past decisions and a progress report. The progress of the ongoing projects of the Parliament Secretariat was also on the agenda.
Md. Mizanur Rahman, Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, presented the meeting’s agenda, facilitating discussions and decisions on the outlined budgetary and developmental plans.
