A three-day virtual exhibition on innovative hardware technology products titled ‘Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2021’ began on the initiative of the Department of Information and Communications Technology in a combination of virtual media and physical infrastructure today.
The theme of the exhibition is ‘Make Here, Sell Everywhere’, said a press release .
President Mohammad Abdul Hamid virtually inaugurated the exhibition held at Bangladesh Film Archive Auditorium in Agargaon.
State Minister for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak and AKM Rahmatullah, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, were also present at the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest, President Mohammad Abdul Hamid said present government has taken various steps to create entrepreneurs in the ICT sector for which adequate financial support is being provided for startups and innovations.
He also said that a company called ‘Start Up Bangladesh’ has been set up along with various projects to institutionalize the startup and innovative culture.
Abdul Hamid hoped that all these initiatives would create new entrepreneurs in the IT sector as well as generate huge employment opportunities and said, “The theme of this year’s exhibition, ‘Make Here, Sell Everywhere’, is very time befitting and significant.”
ICT State Minister Palak said the ICT department has been implementing various programs to translate the dream of the youth into a reality. Bangladesh will soon be established as an innovative nation in the world.
“In the coming days, Digital Devices and Innovation Expo will work as bridges between an innovation ecosystem in the hardware-software sector in Bangladesh,” said the release.
Later, President Md. Abdul Hamid formally announced the inauguration of ‘Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2021’.
Among others, Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Reena Parveen, Additional Secretary, ICT Department also spoke.
