3 Chinese Universities Forge Educational Ties with Islamic University

Dhaka: Three universities in China signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia. Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University Prof. Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah signed the agreements with the Chinese universities during his recent visit to China.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the universities involved in the agreements are Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuchang University of Technology, and Guilin University of Technology. The Vice-Chancellor disclosed this information to journalists at a briefing. The agreements aim to facilitate teacher-student exchanges, joint curriculum development, collaborative research initiatives, and the organization of seminars, symposiums, and workshops.



Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. M Yeaqub Ali, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Manjurul Haque, Proctor Prof. Dr. Md Shahinuzzaman, Student Advisor Prof. Dr. Md Obayedul Islam, Director of the International Affairs Division Prof. Dr. Md Nasir Uddin Mizy, and Acting Director of the Information, Publication, and Public Relations Office Md Sahed Hasan were present at the briefing.



The Vice-Chancellor noted that the MoUs are broadly framed at this initial stage, with plans to work toward more specific agreements in the future. Efforts will also be made to introduce a Chinese language course at IU, establish a Confucius Institute, and create scholarship opportunities in China for IU students, alongside strengthening academic exchange programs.
