Dhaka: Bangladesh Police today promoted 273 Sub-Inspectors (SIs) from various units to the rank of Inspector, according to a Police Headquarters circular. The Police Headquarters issued three separate gazette notifications signed by Afrida Rubaiyat, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in this regard here in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notifications stated that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has approved the promotion of 273 SIs to the rank of Inspector. This includes unarmed SIs, armed SIs, and traffic sergeants. Specifically, 148 unarmed SIs, 97 armed SIs, and 28 city and traffic sergeants were elevated to the rank of Inspector.
The promotion order, issued in the interest of the public, will be effective immediately.
