Sundarbans: Forest guards have detained 25 fishermen and seized around 400 kilograms of illegally caught parshe fish fry from the Sundarbans. The operation involved the apprehension of two trawlers used for the illegal fishing activities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a patrol team led by Forester Dilip Majumder, officer-in-charge of the Bogi Forest Station under the Sundarbans East Forest Division, intercepted a trawler on the Baleswar River. The trawler was stopped late Monday night while it was returning from the forest. Upon conducting a search, the forest guards discovered approximately 150 kilograms of parshe fish fry on board and detained 10 fishermen. These individuals were subsequently transported to the Sharankhola Range Office on Tuesday morning.
