Dhaka: The government has transferred 17 officers of different cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service to various diplomatic missions abroad. The Ministry of Public Administration (MoPA) issued a gazette notification in this regard today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification detailed the new postings including Joint Secretary of MoPA Md Siddiqur Rahman’s assignment to the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur as Minister (Labour). Similarly, Joint Secretary of the Planning Commission Jubaida Mannan has been reassigned to the Bangladesh Embassy in Muscat as Minister (Labour), and Joint Secretary of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Mahmudur Rahman, to the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh, also in the role of Minister (Labour).
Deputy Secretary of the Planning Commission SM Saifur Rahman has been posted to the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait as Counsellor (Labour). Senior Assistant Secretary of the Water Resources Ministry, Mehruba Islam, will serve as First Secretary (Labour) at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Milan.
Additionally, Farzana Akter Mita, Additional District Magistrate of Sylhet, has been transferred to the Bangladesh Embassy in Geneva as First Secretary (Labour). Md Nazmul Hasan, Additional District Magistrate of Narsingdi, is now positioned at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah in the same capacity.
Senior Assistant Secretary of MoPA Arif Faisal Khan has been assigned to the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi as First Secretary (Labour), while Senior Assistant Chief of the Planning Commission Farah Tanjila Matin will join the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore as First Secretary (Labour). Assistant Director of the Regional Public Administration Training Centre in Rajshahi, Noor Ahmed Masum, is now with the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra in the same role. Shoaib Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Satkhira Sadar, has been assigned to the Bangladesh Embassy in Doha as First Secretary (Labour).
Further appointments include Senior Assistant Secretary of the Health, Education and Family Welfare Division Marzia Sultana to the Bangladesh Embassy in Athens, Deputy Director of the Governance Innovation Unit Zahir Imam to Bangkok, Assistant Private Secretary of the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Mahid Al Hasan to Madrid, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhola Md Belal Hossain to Cairo, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali Muhammad Ismail to Moscow, and Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed to Bucharest, all as First Secretaries (Labour).
