Chattogram:Police detained 12 individuals for staging a procession with banners and posters of the Awami League (AL), which is currently a banned organization, in the CRB area under Kotwali Police Station.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred when several youths arrived in a microbus after Jumu'ah prayers and began marching with Awami League banners and posters in front of the Chest Disease Hospital in CRB.

A nearby police patrol team intervened, causing the procession to disperse. Authorities detained 12 people at the scene and seized a microbus and a motorcycle.

The identities of the detainees have not yet been confirmed. Preliminary information suggests they are followers of Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, a former Education Minister in the ousted Awami League government.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jahedul Kabir stated that the 12 individuals were detained for rallying with banners of a banned organization. Police are in the process of verifying their identities, and legal action is being pursued.
