The Zia Inter-University Cricket Competition, featuring the participation of 32 universities, will begin tomorrow at the City Club Ground in the capital. Organised by Jatiyotabadi Kriradol, the tournament will be held in the T10 format, as announced in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press conference was held at the City Club Ground in Mirpur today. Tamim Iqbal, the tournament's brand ambassador and former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, was present at the press conference. Jatiyotabadi Kriradol Convener Niaz Murshed and its Member Secretary and Tournament Committee Chairman Zahed Parvez Chowdhury were also in attendance.
The tournament's Chief Adviser, BNP Sports Affairs Secretary, Dhaka North BNP Convener, and former national football team captain Aminul Haque, unveiled the tournament trophy as the chief guest after the press conference. Speaking at the event, Aminul Haque stated that if BNP forms t he government, sports would bring positive changes to society in Bangladesh. He emphasized that players would be embraced under professionalism and that the plan of Party Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman would be fully implemented to advance the youth and the nation.
The speakers expressed hope that the inaugural Zia Inter-University Cricket Competition would set a positive example in the country's sports arena and become a regular event in the future.
