Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today highlighted the significant role of youth in the development progress of Bangladesh, emphasizing their immense contribution. "The role of the youth in the development progress of Bangladesh is immense. Harnessing the power of youth, our youth led the bloody July Uprising," Professor Yunus stated in a message issued on the occasion of the 'Youth Volunteer Award 2025'.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Yunus expressed his pleasure about the annual presentation of the 'Youth Volunteer Award 2025', organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He extended warm greetings and congratulations to all the nominees. Dr. Yunus highlighted the unique role young volunteers play in nation-building through their dedication, courage, creativity, and tireless work.
He further elaborated that the dedication of youth serves as the main driving force for positive change in society. "Our youths are actively participating and volunteering in various fields of social development including education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and disaster management," he added. The Ministry of Youth and Sports introduced the 'Youth Volunteer Award' to honor these contributions and inspire more young people to volunteer.
Dr. Yunus acknowledged the initiative as commendable and expressed gratitude to those involved in rewarding these pioneers of social change. He mentioned that the current interim government, after assuming office, has initiated multifaceted reform and development programs to build a new Bangladesh. The full participation of young volunteers is crucial for the successful implementation of these projects.
The Chief Adviser expressed hope that the younger generation will be inspired by the award-winning volunteers and perform their responsibilities with increased dedication and concentration in nation-building efforts.
