Dhaka: Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar today emphasized that the young generation should not only aspire to be job seekers but also focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and moral leadership.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Abrar highlighted education as an investment in peace, prosperity, and human resources, noting the Bangladesh government's ongoing education reform programs aimed at equality, quality enhancement, and digital transformation.
Dr Abrar shared these insights while speaking as the chief guest at the 37th Convocation of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT). At this event, 522 students from 36 member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) received their graduate and postgraduate degrees.
He also paid tribute to the students and alumni who lost their lives in the July 2024 movement, acknowledging their sacrifice. Addressing the graduating class, Dr Abrar urged them to use their education for humanity's welfare, guided by faith, knowledge, and compassion.
Furthermore, Dr Abrar underscored IUT's status as the only international university in Bangladesh established by the OIC, marking it as a national pride. He assured continued governmental support for IUT's growth and success.
The event was attended by representatives of the OIC, diplomats, teachers, guardians, and students from OIC member countries. Among the attendees were Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher, newly elected as Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology of the OIC, Convocation Speaker Professor Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, and IUT Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam.
