Patuakhali: A youth was killed in a road accident at Ward No-3 of Muradia union under Dumki upazila of the district on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Siam, 20, son of Abu Yusuf Hawlader of Kuripika village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a trolley collided head-on with an auto rickshaw, causing the auto rickshaw to fall into a roadside pond. Siam, a passenger of the auto rickshaw, was critically injured in the incident.
He was promptly taken to Dumki Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Officer-in-Charge of Dumki Police Station Md. Selim Uddin confirmed the matter.
