Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in
an anti-crime drive, detained an alleged drug peddler with 196 bottles of
Phensedyl in the district last night.
The arrested was identified as Sohag Ali, 21, son of Firoj Ali of Baliadanga
village under Puthiya upazila in the district.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden drive in
Baliaghati Sonarpara area under the same upazila around 11.30 pm and held
Sohag Ali with the contraband items, RAB sources said this afternoon.
Later, the person along with the seized goods was handed over to Charghat
Police Station with a case.
Meanwhile, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Rajshahi Metropolitan
Police (RMP) arrested two alleged drug paddlers with 2.3-kilogram of ganja
after conducting a raid in Aliganj Bathanpara area under Rajpara Police
Station in the metropolis last midnight.
The arrested persons were identified as Muhammad Ziban, 34, son of late Abul
Sheikh, and Muhammad Ramjan, 36, son of late Saijuddin Sheikh, both hailed

rom Aliganj Bathanpara area.
