Jhenaidah: A man died from a snakebite at Mollakua village under Kaliganj upazila of the district last night. The deceased was Hasibul Hasan Joni, 40, son of late Yusuf Ali of the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a venomous snake bit Joni at his house while he was sleeping. His family members initially took him to a local ojha. After returning home, Joni went back to sleep.
His condition worsened, prompting his family to take him to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.
He died around 7 am while being transferred to Jashore General Hospital, as confirmed by Dr. Shishir Kumar, medical officer of Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.
