Chattogram: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yeaser Khan Chowdhury has urged officials at Bangladesh Television (BTV) Chattogram Center to focus on airing quality, time-relevant programs and to enhance the facility with advanced digital equipment by speeding up ongoing development projects.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his visit to the center located in the Foye’s Lake area, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury also instructed the officials to create and design creative, entertainment-based programs aimed at boosting revenue while effectively communicating the government’s welfare-oriented initiatives to the public.
In a meeting with the officials and employees of BTV Chattogram Center, the State Minister reviewed the overall operations and was briefed by General Manager Md Imam Hossain about the center’s program schedule, the progress of the ongoing project, manpower shortages, and steps taken to increase revenue.
The State Minister was informed that approximately 90 percent of a Tk. 27 crore project titled ‘Turning the Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center into a Full-Fledged TV Station (1st Phase)’ is completed, with the remaining work expected to be finished within the next six months. Key components of the project include constructing a 10-story multi-purpose building to house a multi-purpose studio, a newsroom studio, and installing modern high-definition transmission equipment.
Yeaser Khan Chowdhury advised the officials on improving program quality to meet viewer expectations through optimal use of existing manpower and technical facilities, as well as engaging popular artists. He assured that the ministry would address all reasonable issues faced by the BTV Chattogram Center.
Later, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury toured various facilities at the center and reviewed the progress of the nearly completed project site.
