Nandail:State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury emphasized the role of sports in creating a drug-free society. He underscored the need to engage the youth in sports to steer them away from drugs and crime, highlighting that such activities could contribute to building a healthier and more beautiful Bangladesh.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Yasser made these remarks while addressing the final match of the late Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Mini Football Tournament. The event took place at the Kharua Bongram Government Primary School playground in Mymensingh district, where he participated as the chief guest.

The state minister elaborated on how sports could foster the development of young individuals into physically and mentally healthy citizens. He stated that sports are essential for building a nation that is both mentally strong and physically fit.

Yasser also noted that sports extend beyond players, involving spectators, organizers, and local communities. Such events, he said, contribute to social harmony and unity by bringing together diverse groups of people.

The event was attended by leaders of the upazila and municipal units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), along with activists from the local Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and other affiliated organizations.
