Dhaka: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today underscored the urgent need for the swift execution of the ministry's plans and decisions. He expressed the necessity for rapid implementation during an introductory meeting with ministry officials and heads of affiliated departments and agencies, alongside newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Yasser highlighted that the ministry requires significant changes, emphasizing that each department has its own set of plans that need to be implemented without delay. He acknowledged past delays in executing decisions and stressed the importance of immediate action. Yasser urged all involved to take prompt measures to ensure the successful implementation of programs in alignment with the ministry's strategies and policies.
He pointed out the critical need to expedite infrastructure development and modernization of key institutions such as Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Bangladesh Betar, and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). These organizations play a crucial role in delivering information to the public, and enhancing their capacity would improve the quality and reputation of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Yasser further stated that effective execution of the ministry's activities would enable the government to present its initiatives to the public more effectively, fostering a positive perception among citizens. He urged for quick action in accordance with established rules and policies to ensure the timely implementation of decisions.
Welcoming Minister Andaleeve Rahman, Yasser praised him as a well-known figure in Bangladeshi politics, recognized for his organizational skills and dynamic leadership. The meeting concluded with Yasser presenting flowers to the newly appointed minister as a gesture of welcome.
