Rajshahi:World Egg Day 2026 was marked in Rajshahi with a vibrant rally and the free distribution of over 4,000 eggs to promote the nutritional benefits of eggs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event's theme was "Nutrition in eggs, energy in eggs, and immunity from disease through eggs." The programme was inaugurated by Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, who served as the chief guest.
The rally commenced from Saheb Bazar Zero Point in the morning, traversed through Moni Chattar and Malopara, and concluded at Alkar Mor. During the observance, over 4,000 eggs were distributed free of charge at approximately four different locations throughout the city.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Dr Ananda Kumar Adhikari, Director of the Department of Livestock Services in Rajshahi Division, District Livestock Officer Dr Ataur Rahman, Deputy Director of the District Artificial Insemination Centre Dr Zulfikar Mohammad Akhtar Hossain, and Enamul Haque, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Poultry Association's Rajshahi district unit.
The organisers aimed to use the observance to enhance public awareness about the nutritional value of eggs, promote their inclusion in daily diets, and emphasize their role in maintaining good health.
