Jamalpur: The World Day against Child Labour-2025 was observed in the district, as elsewhere in the country, today. The District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) jointly organized a discussion meeting at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner Hasina Begum presided over the meeting. In her speech, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the government’s efforts to eliminate child labour and emphasized the need to raise awareness among the populace. She also underscored the importance of providing technical education to children to develop them into skilled manpower.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures including Additional Superintendent of Police Yahiya Al Mamun, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Azizul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Iftekhar Eunus, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Kamrunnahar, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (Jamalpur District Unit) Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sattar, and Upazila Primary Education Officer Zahidul Islam.
Inspector of DIFE Mizanur Rahman delivered the keynote paper on the day, while Inspector Asaduzzaman conducted the proceedings of the meeting. The event was preceded by a rally that commenced from the Dewanpara area in the district town.
