Dhaka: The 18th World Autism Awareness Day will be observed on April 22 in the country. The event is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium, as stated in an official release today. Social Welfare Advisor Sharmin S. Murshid is expected to attend the program as the chief guest.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, World Autism Awareness Day is traditionally observed on April 2. However, this year the celebration was postponed due to the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday. The theme for this year’s event is “Welcoming Neurodiversity, Building a Sustainable Society.”

The day aims to raise awareness about autism and promote the acceptance of neurodiversity within the community. The event will include various activities and discussions focused on integrating individuals with autism into society and supporting their contributions towards sustainability.
