Dhaka: A training workshop titled 'Cloud Computing for Industry/Businesses: Driving Digital Transformation and Cyber Security Measures for Industry/Businesses' was conducted at the boardroom of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by BCI to enhance awareness and capacity among industrial and business leaders regarding cloud-based digital transformation and cyber security practices. The workshop saw the presence of the Secretary of the ICT Division, Shish Haider Chowdhury, as the chief guest, while BCI President Anwar-Ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) presided over the session.
Rifat Rahman, the Chief Executive Officer of Tirzok Private Limited, served as a resource person, and Md. Khairul Amin, former Director General of the National Cyber Security Agency, joined virtually as a co-trainer. According to a press release, 25 participants from various institutions and BCI member organizations participated in the workshop.
BCI President Anwar-Ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) emphasized the importance of adapting to technological changes in the era of Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the need for industries to embrace automation, data-driven decision-making, and cloud-based solutions. He also pointed out the growing cyber security risks associated with digital adoption and stressed the need for strong protective measures.
ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury commended BCI for organizing the workshop, noting the ICT Division's ongoing efforts to ensure data protection and cyber security for citizens and institutions. He mentioned that the ICT Division is working on formulating necessary laws and policies in collaboration with academia, the private sector, and government agencies to address these challenges.
During the second session, Rifat Rahman delivered a presentation on digital transformation through cloud computing, while Md. Khairul Amin conducted a virtual session on cyber security measures, addressing participants' questions. The workshop concluded with a feedback exchange and a certificate distribution ceremony, where Dr. Delowar Hossain Raza, Director of BCI, awarded certificates to the participants.
BCI Secretary General Dr. Md. Helal Uddin concluded the event with words of gratitude to the speakers and participants, encouraging continued engagement with future BCI initiatives.
