Women’s Booters Hold First Training in Yangon Ahead of FC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers

Yangon: Bangladesh national women’s football team held their first training session in Yangon, Myanmar, ahead of the FC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an audio message from the Bangladesh Football Federation indicated that the training session was successful despite the rainy weather. All players were reported to be fit, healthy, and in good spirits. The coaching staff expressed satisfaction with the team’s energy and focus during the session.

Bangladesh captain Afeida Khandakar shared her thoughts after the training, stating, “We had our first training session on the ground, and everyone practiced very attentively. We are practicing the way the coach showed us, and all the players are in good shape.” She mentioned that the team enjoyed training in the rain and noted that arriving in Myanmar a few days before the tournament would help the team adapt to local conditions.

Team assistant coach Mahmuda Akter explained that after arriving safely in Myanma
r on Wednesday, the team skipped the first day’s ground training due to rain and instead worked out at the hotel gym. Despite similar conditions on the second day, the team completed their training properly, with players remaining sound and fit.

Bangladesh, placed in Group C alongside Bahrain, Turkmenistan, and host Myanmar, will kick off their tournament campaign against Bahrain on June 29. The team will play their subsequent group matches against host Myanmar and Turkmenistan on July 2 and July 5, respectively. All matches are scheduled to be held at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
