Wife Killed by Husband in Joypurhat

Joypurhat: A housewife was allegedly chopped to death by her husband at Boro Tajpur village in Sadar upazila last night. The victim was identified as Rokeya Begum, 45, wife of Zahir Uddin of the same area.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police arrested Zahir Uddin, 52, after the incident, as stated by Tambirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station. Police reported that Zahir attacked his wife Rokeya on the head with a sharp weapon over a family feud last night, resulting in her immediate death.

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and apprehended Zahir this morning. They recovered the body and sent it to Joypurhat Modern General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case has been filed in connection with the incident.
