Khulna:Jatiya Sangsad Whip Rakibul Islam Bakul emphasized the potential for agricultural entrepreneurs to significantly impact the development of both the Khulna region and the country. He highlighted that agricultural products represent a promising sector, with opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand the market by producing quality, safe, and adulteration-free food products.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Whip Rakibul spoke at a function in the conference room of the Khulna Deputy Commissioner's Office. The event was organized to distribute agro-processing equipment to agricultural entrepreneurs as part of the agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme.
During his address, Whip Rakibul raised concerns about the use of harmful chemicals and artificial colors by some traders, which result in substandard food products. He stressed the necessity of halting the sale of such products to protect public health.
He also underlined the importance of enhancing training facilities, providing loans, marketing support, and distributing essential equipment to assist agricultural entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses. Whip Rakibul expressed optimism that with an increase in the number of entrepreneurs, the country would prosper, and he hoped for continued government support.
The programme was a joint effort by the district administration and the Office of the Senior Agricultural Marketing Officer, chaired by Khulna Deputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat. Notable attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bitaan Kumar Mondal, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Md Nazrul Islam, and District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md Abdul Karim, alongside agricultural entrepreneurs.
After the function, Whip Rakibul visited an exhibition showcasing products made by the entrepreneurs and distributed agro-processing equipment among them.
