Dhaka: The weekly tea sale experienced robust support across all varieties, bolstered by the market’s key players. However, a noted decrease in activity from loose tea buyers contributed to diminished competition. Additionally, the demand for the reprinted section of the market remained limited, resulting in increased withdrawals.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the CTC Leaf section saw 49,421 packages of tea offered, which were met with good demand. Within the Brokens category, well-made good liquoring Brokens maintained a strong market presence, generally holding firm. Medium varieties also performed well, selling at levels similar to the previous week. Conversely, plainer teas faced slightly reduced demand, leading to more withdrawals, although BLF teas remained firm with fewer withdrawals.

In the Fannings category, well-made good liquoring Fannings experienced steady demand, maintaining levels similar to the last sale. Medium varieties continued to attract good demand at around the same levels as before. Meanwhile, plainer teas saw a slight dip in demand, resulting in increased withdrawals. Yet, BLF teas held firm with fewer withdrawals.

The Dust section, with 9,462 packages on offer, saw a strong demand. Good liquoring Dusts remained firm to slightly higher in the market, while their medium counterparts sold well, closely aligned with quality. Plain/BLF Dusts experienced better demand with minimal withdrawals. Blenders provided strong support, although interest from loose tea buyers was moderate.
