Dhaka: Water levels at 91 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have shown a rise, while 23 stations recorded a fall. Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at five stations have remained steady, and no stations are currently flowing above the danger level, as per a bulletin issued by the FFWC.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the water levels of all major rivers are currently below the danger level. The Surma-Kushiyara rivers are experiencing rising water levels, which may continue for the next two days and remain stable for the following day. The Kushiyara River in the Sylhet district is expected to flow near the warning level within the next 24 hours, with moderate-heavy to heavy rainfall likely in the basin over the next day, followed by moderate to moderately heavy rainfall over the subsequent two days.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are also experiencing rising water levels, a trend that may continue for the next five days, although the rivers are expected to remain below the danger level. Similarly, the Ganges and Padma rivers are on the rise, with projections indicating continued elevation over the next five days, yet both are expected to stay below the danger level.
Water levels in the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers are rising. These rivers may begin to fall over the next day and remain stable over the following two days, with moderate to moderately heavy rainfall anticipated in this basin over the next three days.
