Dhaka: Water levels at 39 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have shown an increase, while 74 stations have recorded a decrease. Among the 119 river stations observed, six have maintained steady water levels, and no stations are reported to be flowing above the danger level, as stated in a bulletin issued by the FFWC.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the water level of the Surma River is currently decreasing, whereas the Kushiyara River's water level remains stable. This situation is expected to persist over the next 24 hours, with a potential rise in water levels on the second and third days. On the third day, these rivers' water levels may reach the caution level in the Sylhet district.
The Teesta River's water level is on the rise, a trend predicted to continue for the next 24 hours before stabilizing over the subsequent two days. In the next 24 hours, the Teesta River may reach the caution level in the districts of Nilphamari, Rangpur, and Lalmonirhat.
The Brahmaputra and Jamuna rivers are experiencing a decrease in water levels, which is anticipated to persist for the next two days, although the rivers are expected to remain below the danger level. Meanwhile, the Ganges River's water level remains stable and may increase over the next five days. Conversely, the Padma River is experiencing a decrease in water levels, a trend likely to continue for the next two days.
