Very severe heat wave sweeping over north and

north-eastern districts. Severe and mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping

over different parts of the country, said a met office forecast for the next

24 hours begins from 9am today.

“Very severe heat wave is sweeping over Pabna and Chuadanga districts. Severe

heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Tangail, Jashore and

Kushtia. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Barishal and

Mymensingh divisions and rest parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khluna divisions

and the districts of Srimangal and Chandpur and it may continue” ,the

forecast elaborated.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is

likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet

divisions with hails at isolated places. Weather may remain mainly dry with

temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

ecorded 42.2 degree Celsius at

Chuadanga and minimum temperature today was recorded 20.6 degree Celsius at

Dinajpur. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was

recorded 56 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly

unchanged over the country. Due to increase of moisture incursion, the

discomfort may persist.

The sun sets today at 06:23 pm and rises tomorrow at 05:30 am in the capital.
