Verify Information Before Taking Action: Info Secretary

Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana today emphasized the necessity for newly appointed officers to meticulously verify the accuracy of information prior to taking any action. She urged them to actively engage in countering rumors and misinformation during an orientation session for newly recruited BCS (Information) cadre officers and ninth-grade officers of Bangladesh Television (BTV) at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the secretary welcomed the new officers and highlighted the significance of adhering to laws and regulations while performing official duties. She advised them to remain vigilant about which actions are appropriate and which are not, underscoring the need for awareness and responsibility in their roles.

Recalling the sacrifices made during the mass uprising of July, Farjana stated, "We have reached this position through immense sacrifice and bloodshed. To pay back to the martyrs, officials must carry out their responsibilities with honesty, integrity, and accountability." She further addressed the young officers, stressing the importance of maintaining public engagement and executing their duties with transparency and credibility.

The secretary encouraged the officers to make meaningful contributions to their careers by striving for excellence in their work. Additional Secretaries Md. Kausar Ahammad and Dr. Mohammad Altaf-ul-Alam, along with Joint Secretary Kazi Ziaul Baset, also spoke at the event.
