Three Bogura Food Shops Fined for Unhygienic Practices

Bogura: Three food shops in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district faced fines totaling Tk 93,000 for storing food in unhygienic conditions and selling expired products during a drive conducted today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was led by Mehedi Hasan, the assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumers’ Right Protection in Bogura. He was joined by District Safe Food Officer Md. Russel, an Upazila Sanitary Inspector, and a team of police officers.



The establishments penalized include ‘Baikali Doi-Mistanno Ghor’, which was fined Tk 50,000, ‘Shoily Food Park and Chinese’, which incurred a Tk 40,000 penalty, and ‘Doi Mela’, which was fined Tk 3,000. These penalties were imposed due to violations related to unsanitary storage conditions and the sale of expired products.



Mehedi Hasan emphasized that authorities will continue to take stringent action against illegal food businesses to protect public health. District authorities and relevant departments are committed to working together to ensure food safety in the region.
