Gaibandha: Village Defence Party (VDP) Day was observed in the district today with a call to maintaining internal security and preventing all sorts of crimes at the grassroots level.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the district Ansar and VDP office organized various programs to mark the occasion. The day began with a grand rally in the town, followed by a discussion meeting held on the premises of the district Ansar and VDP office.
Md Abu Solaiman, the District Commandant of Ansar and VDP, attended the function as the chief guest. Sadar upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Tariqul Islam presided over the meeting. In his speech, Md Abu Solaiman highlighted that the Village Defence Party was established on this day in 1976 with the goal of maintaining internal security in rural areas and eliminating social crimes at the grassroots level.
He encouraged the Ansar and VDP members to work with dedication and a patriotic spirit to build a better Bangladesh by preventing social crimes at the grassroots. Many members of Ansar and VDP participated in the programs.
