Manikganj: A van driver lost his life in a head-on collision between a van and a pick-up truck in Shibalaya upazila of Manikganj district on Friday evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police, Mostafizur Rahman, reported that the accident took place around 5:30 pm on the Dhaka-Aricha highway near Falsatia Bridge. The collision resulted in the van driver being thrown into a roadside water-filled ditch.
After an extensive search, locals along with fire service personnel managed to recover the body of the van driver. The police have seized the pick-up truck involved in the accident, but the driver of the truck managed to escape from the scene, as confirmed by the OC.
