Uzbek Int’l Chess: Bangladesh’s Fahad, Parag lose 6th round matches

Two Bangladeshi players–International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman and FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag–lost their 6th round Category A matches of the 2nd International Chess Tournament, the President of Uzbekistan Cup in Tashkent Saturday morning.

In the 6th round matches Saturday morning, IM Fahad lost to GM Aryan Chopra of India while FM Parag lost to IM Fayzullaev Akmal of Uzbekistan.

Earlier in the 5th round match on Friday, Rahad Rahman (Rating-2405) shared points Dutch GM Sergey Tiviakov (Rating 2577).

IM Fahad played with black pieces to choose the France Defense and settled for a draw with GM Tiviakov in the 25th moves.

In the other 5th round match, Bangladeshi FM Mehdi Hasan Parag beat WIM Egamberdieva Bakhora of Uzbekistan.

After the 6th round matches, Fahad earned 3.5 points while FM Parag bagged 2 points

The 7th round matches began Saturday afternoon. In the 7th round, IM Fahad playing against GM Yilmaz Mustafa of Turkey while FM Parag playing against Wkuziev Miraziz of Uzbekistan.
