Chattogram: The US Embassy in Dhaka, in collaboration with Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), and Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), has initiated a comprehensive Medical First Responder Seminar in Chattogram. This training aims to enhance the coordination and synchronization among the involved organizations for effective crisis response at the port, focusing on protecting critical infrastructure.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative is spearheaded by the U.S. Civil-Military Support Element (CMSE). The week-long training will focus on essential life-saving techniques, such as CPR and controlling severe bleeding during emergencies. Participants will engage in practical exercises, including a mass casualty scenario, to equip them with the skills necessary to lead subsequent medical training within their organizations.
Since 2014, the US government has supported training for over 25,000 Bangladeshi first responders. This training includes specialized sessions on Swift Water Rescue, High Angle Rescue, and Search and Rescue. These efforts underscore the U.S. Embassy's commitment to enhancing Bangladesh's crisis response capabilities and ensuring regional stability, thereby contributing to the safety of both America and Bangladesh.
