US Commercial Counselor Paul G. Frost Engages with FBCCI to Boost Bilateral Trade

Dhaka: US Commercial Counselor in Dhaka Paul G. Frost met with Md. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), to discuss the enhancement of bilateral trade relations, market expansion, and mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States at the FBCCI office in Motijheel.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting began with Md. Hafizur Rahman highlighting the longstanding trade relations between Bangladesh and the United States. He emphasized that the US is a major market for Bangladesh’s exports, particularly in the ready-made garments sector. Rahman suggested that it is an opportune moment to formulate a trade agreement between the two nations to maximize trade potentials and supply chain advantages. He also expressed gratitude to the US government for reducing reciprocal tariffs on Bangladeshi products.

US Commercial Counselor Paul G. Frost underscored the importance of strengthening mutual relations, business networks, a
nd ties between US and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. He extended an invitation to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs and businesses to participate in an upcoming Investment Summit in the United States. Frost also emphasized the necessity of reinforcing mutual cooperation in addition to boosting bilateral trade relations.

The meeting was attended by FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir, Head of FBCCI’s International Affairs Wing Md. Zafar Iqbal, and Brigadier General (retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah, Head of the FBCCI Safety Council, among others.
