Dhaka: A delegation of the United Nation's human rights high commission paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam at police headquarters here today. Senior Officer of the commission Francesca Marotta led the two-member delegation. In the meeting, they discussed the ongoing reform in the police force, said a press release. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation assured the IGP of extending all out cooperation for police reform. The IGP put emphasis on the formation of an independent police commission and a police complaint cell to facilitate people to submit their grievances. Baharul extended thanks to the UN Human Rights High Commission for providing support to Bangladesh in different areas including training programmes.
