Dhaka: The United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council (HRC) Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Execution, Dr. Morris Tidball-Binz, today paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam. He met the police chief at the Police Headquarters this morning, as per a press release from the Police Headquarters.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, discussions were held on topics related to the forensic lab and autopsy procedures. The IGP emphasized that Bangladesh Police is committed to implementing the law with a strong focus on human rights.
Present at the meeting were Additional IGP (Crime and Ops) Khondoker Rafiqul Islam, Additional IGP (CID) Md. Sibgat Ullah, DIG (Confidential) Md. Kamrul Ahsan, and Additional DIG (Special Crime Management and NRB Affairs) Md. Ashik Sayeed.
