Dazhou: Bangladesh men’s hockey team will take on Japan in the semifinal of the Men’s U-18 Asia Cup hockey tomorrow in the city of Dazhou, China. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 pm Bangladesh time.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, prior to reaching the semifinals, Bangladesh displayed a mixed performance in the pool stages. They started their campaign by defeating Hong Kong China 3-0 in the opening Pool A match, followed by a dominating 13-0 victory over Sri Lanka. The team also secured a 5-2 win against China. However, they faced a setback in their final group match, losing 6-3 to Pakistan.
Despite the loss to Pakistan, Bangladesh finished as the runners-up in Pool A with three wins and one defeat. Meanwhile, their semifinal opponents, Japan, emerged as the champions of Pool B, maintaining an undefeated record across five matches.
