Lalmonirhat:Two women lost their lives in a road accident on the Rangpur-Kurigram highway in Sadar upazila this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims were identified as Jamila Begum, 41, from Dhamer Kuti Fakirer Takiya village, and Fajila Begum, 55, from Mustafi village in the upazila.
The incident occurred when the women went for a morning walk and were struck by a speeding truck that lost control, resulting in their instant death.
Saad Ahmed, the Officer-in-Charge of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that legal action would be pursued in relation to the case.
