Two Women Arrested with Ganja in Rangpur Anti-Drug Operation

Rangpur:Two women were apprehended during an anti-drug operation by the Special Response Battalion (SRB) in Rangpur, where authorities seized 7.5 kilograms of ganja. The arrest took place in Taluk Habu village, under the jurisdiction of Gangachara Model Police Station, on Thursday evening.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are identified as Mst Moni, aged 35, the wife of Md Abdul Haque from the Babupara Rail Gate area, and Mst Munni Begum, aged 55, the wife of the late Morshed Miah from the Robertsonganj area under Kotwali Police Station in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team from the SRB-13 Crime Prevention Specialised Company conducted the raid at approximately 630 pm, leading to the arrest of the alleged drug dealers and the confiscation of the ganja. Following the arrest, a case was filed against the women under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, and they were handed over to Gangachara Model Police Station along with the seized drugs, as stated in an SRB press release.
