Narail: Two students were injured after a coconut tree fell on a classroom at Shamsunnahar Kindergarten in Kalia municipality of Narail district during a sudden storm. The incident took place in Chhoto Kalia around 10:00 am as classes were in session.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the injured students are Siam Sheikh, 11, from Chhoto Kalia village, and Mazedul Islam, 9, from Ramnagar village. Witnesses reported that strong winds caused a decayed coconut tree near the school premises to collapse onto the classroom roof, leading to the injuries and panic among other students present.

Locals quickly responded by rescuing the injured students and transporting them to Kalia Upazila Health Complex. Siam Sheikh was subsequently referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Kalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Jinnatul Islam stated that legal action would be pursued if any negligence is identified.

In the aftermath, guardians and locals have accused the school authorities of negligence,
claiming that they failed to address the long-standing risk posed by the tree despite its dangerous condition.
