Two minor children drowned in a pond at
Gomastapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district yesterday noon.
The deceased were Md. Fahim Ali, 4, son of Md. Daud Ali of Mominpara village
and Farhana, 3, daughter of Mofizul of the aforesaid village under Chowdala
union of Gomastapur upazila.
The victims were cousins, police and local sources confirmed.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gomostapur Police Station Chowdhury Zobayer Ahammad
said the children suddenly fell into a pond near their houses while they were
playing beside it.
Later, locals recovered their bodies from the water body, he said, adding:
“An unnatural death (UD) case was recorded with the concerned police
station.”
