Two persons were killed and 10 others injured in two separate road accidents in the district today.
Police said the accident occurred around 11am when a goods-laden truck collided head-on with a bus on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Muljan area under Manikganj Sadar upazila, leaving the truck driver dead on the spot and 10 passengers of the bus injured.
The identity of the driver could not be known immediately. The body was sent to Manikganj 250 bed general hospital morgue.
Another accident took place at Taltola area of Singair upazila around 8 am when a goods-laden pickup van fell into the roadside ditch, leaving one killed on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Ridoy, 18, son of Abdul Karim of village Dakkhin Gopalray under Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat district.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sujon Sarker confirmed the matters.
