Two persons were killed and one other was
injured as a pickup van lost control over its steering and collided head on
with cargo loaded truck in Jaina bazaar area on the Mawna Highway of Sripur
upazila in the district early this morning.
The deceased were- pickup driver Chanchal Roy, 30 and Ripon, 35.
Police said a fish delivery pickup van with three persons on board were
returning to Bhaluka from Mohammadpur in the capital and its driver lost
control over the steering wheel when the pick-up reached in Jainabazar area
and hit a truck. Its driver Chancal Roy died on the spot.
Injured were rescued and rushed to the upazila health complex where the duty
doctor declared Ripon dead.
Police recovered the bodies.
