Two Killed and 27 Injured in Collision on Patuakhali-Kuakata Highway

Patuakhali: Two people lost their lives and 27 others sustained injuries in a severe road accident that took place this morning in the Fatulla area under Auliapur union in Sadar upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic incident occurred around 8 am when a bus operated by 'Dhansiri Paribahan' collided head-on with a RAB vehicle on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of ASI Abdul Alim, aged 33, and a two-year-old boy named Piyam, who was the son of ASI Prosenjit.

Squadron Leader M Rashedul Alam, Camp Commander of RAB-8 in Patuakhali, reported that the crash left 27 others injured. In response to the accident, fire service personnel, aided by local residents, quickly moved to rescue the injured individuals and transported them to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Several of the injured, who were in critical condition, were later transferred to Barishal Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to receive more intensive medical care.
