Khulna: Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a clueless murder case under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP). The victim, Md Rana Hawlader, 24, an easy-bike driver, went missing on February 15 after leaving his house at noon. Following his disappearance, the victim’s wife filed a general diary (GD) with Daulatpur Police Station.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on the basis of the GD, police launched a search operation. On February 20, the body of Rana was recovered from the Bhairab River near the Railgate Krishnamohan cremation ground area. In this connection, Daulatpur Police Station turned the GD into a murder case (No-07, dated 23/02/2026, under sections 302/201/34 of the Penal Code, 1860).
A special team of Daulatpur Police conducted drives at different places on the night of February 24 and arrested two accused – Mehedi Hasan Rabbi, 22, son of Rafiqul Hawlader of Maheshwarpasha Maniktala area under Daulatpur Police Station, and Miraj Foraji, 20, son of Md Harun Foraji of Maniktala area under the same police station in Khulna. Police said Miraj Foraji has a previous record of one theft case.
The arrested accused was produced before the court, where they gave confessional statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Investigation into the case is underway, police added.
