Two Fuel Retailers Fined Tk 1 Lakh for Overcharging in Tangail

Tangail: National Consumer Rights Protection has fined two organizations for overpricing the fuel here. Assistant director of district National Consumer Rights Protection Asaduzzaman Rumel led the drive with support from law enforcing agencies.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the two organizations, MS Ujjal Enterprise and Jahid Enterprise in Vuapur Upazila, were fined 50,000 taka each for selling diesel at a price above the fixed 115 taka, instead charging more than 150 takas. Rumel confirmed the fines and emphasized the importance of adhering to government pricing to protect consumer rights.
