Two Diagnostic Centres Penalized for Expired Test Kits in Chandpur

Dhaka: Two diagnostic centres were fined Tk 30,000 during a regular drive today for possessing expired test kits in the district. Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate’s District Office Abdullah Al Imran led the drives in the Shaheed Minar and Sadar Hospital areas of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, ‘New Modern Digital Diagnostic Centre’ was fined Tk 10,000 and ‘Famous Diagnostic Centre’ was fined Tk 20,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for having expired test kits. The fines were collected on the spot, and the expired kits were subsequently destroyed by the concerned authorities.



As part of the regular drive, raids were carried out in the areas, Abdullah Al Imran stated. The operation was supported by District Health Inspector Md Nazrul Islam and a team from Sadar Model Police Station.
